April 30, 2009 - The St. Lucie County Education Foundation

What a great night!! One of our directors, Troy Church, had the distinct honor and pleasure of presenting three scholarships to three very deserving and dedicated young ladies.  The night was filled with the air of accomplishment, accolades, and appreciation.  All the young adults were outstanding to watch and hear about.  The Katy Foundation awarded scholarships in the areas of Nursing, Early Childhood Education and Public Safety.  These areas are to honor the professions that helped the Church Family along a very difficult path in 2006 and this is the second year we have been able to be a part of this very worthwhile function.  The Winners for 2009 are:

Nursing

Danitza Byrd

Early Childhood Education

Samantha Cole

Public Safety

Lila Durkee

We, along with these young ladies families, friends and schools, wish them the best of luck and fortune as they step off into this next phase of their young lives.  We hope these scholarships can help them achieve their educational goals and continue the light Katy has already brought to so many.  Our prayers go out to these young ladies in their endeavors and to all those who they come in contact.  We are so very proud of them and their accomplishments and we will hold them close to our hearts as they continue to progress in their educational strides and go out into the world doing great things.
