SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarship applications are currently being reviewed by the St. Lucie Education Foundation Scholarship Committee. The Katy Foundation will receive the top applicant’s packets shortly. Our determination will be made in the spirit of the criterion and we will inform the Education Foundation of the awards. Applicants will be notified by The Education Foundation. Scholarships will be awarded on the night of May 08, 2008, at the Scholarship Awards Dinner. Thank you for your interest in our program.

 

Public Safety

The Travis Cox Public Safety Memorial Scholarship

In honor of those who risk their lives to respond immediately to our call for help regardless of circumstance or personal impact, this scholarship is awarded to the student who values and desires to pursue a career in Public Safety (i.e.: Law Enforcement, EMS, Fire Service, etc.). The candidate must demonstrate Christian citizenship, scholastic achievement, leadership, good moral character, goodwill, helpfulness, spirit, athletic ability, good sportsmanship, and going beyond the call of duty.

AMOUNT: $250 (non-renewable) to one qualifying student each school year

Early Childhood Education

In honor of dedicated educators that understand the far reaching impact they have on both the student/child and their family, this scholarship is awarded to the student who values and desires the completion of a degree in Early Childhood Education. The candidate must demonstrate Christian citizenship, scholastic achievement, leadership, goodwill, helpfulness, spirit, and desire to inspire children to learn.

AMOUNT: $500 (non-renewable) to one qualifying student each school year

Nursing

In honor of those who dedicate themselves to seeing to the medical, mental, emotional and physical needs of a pediatric patient and their families, this scholarship is awarded to the student who values and desires the completion of a degree in Nursing (specialization in Pediatrics is considered, but NOT required). The candidate must demonstrate Christian citizenship, compassion, scholastic achievement, leadership, goodwill, helpfulness, spirit, and a desire to give of themselves to others.

AMOUNT: $500 (non-renewable) to one qualifying student each school year
